Campus Golf Policies – A Pilot Program

The University of Evansville strives to maintain an environment that protects the integrity of its facilities and grounds, as well as the safety of the campus community and neighborhoods.  For this reason, policies have been implemented that allow for “Campus Golf” to be played on campus under certain conditions and with the responsibility of safe play resting with the participants.

Note:  Campus Golf is a pilot program approved by the University of Evansville.  Should participants fail to play within the guidelines stated below, or should the environment of the campus prove to be nonconductive to play, the pilot program will be suspended and play will not be allowed to continue.

Personal Responsibility and Liability:  Golfers assume ALL liability for damages to grounds, buildings, cars, and pedestrians.  Golfers are expected to cooperate with all University officials should damages occur.  Failure to do so may result in University disciplinary action.  Golfers must follow the approved Campus Golf Course as listed on the Fitness Center Website.  Golfers are to be respectful of residents, property, and one another.

Rules for Play

  1. Campus Golf may only be played with a tennis ball and with irons.   No wood clubs are allowed.

  2. Golfers must always use a Pocket Turf pad for all shots.  Pocket Turf pads are available for check-out from the Fitness Center, or golfers may use their own as long as they meet approved specifications.  Balls landing in landscaping should be given relief and played from the nearest turf area.

  3. It is recommended that golfers play in groups no larger than ten people.

  4. All play must end by 10:00 p.m.

  5. Every Campus Golf Team must designate a “coordinator” who is responsible for sending an email to jc56@evansville.edu listing the participants, as well as the date and time of play.

  6. Any golfer causing damage to property must notify the office of security and complete an incident report.  Failure of golfers to take personal responsibility for damages may result in a prohibition of Campus Golf on the University of Evansville campus.

  7. Golfers must always play away from pedestrians and traffic.  They should never hit into a group of individuals, toward parked vehicles or vehicular traffic.

  8. Play shall only occur on the approved course.
